LOVE COMMA

LOVE COMMA

LOVE COMMA is a breastfeeding clothing company - Their clothes use “fabric-only” mechanisms through folding and layering to create new breastfeeding systems that can be implemented in designs. This allows for discreet access and ease, as well as complete coverage for breastfeeding, without any hardware like zippers or snaps.

My role as a designer here spanned across a broad range of areas - from customer research, to marketing, to business strategy, and to working in all roles of the design process.

One major accomplishment was coming up with a new mechanism for our tops and dresses. My process for doing this was as followed:

  1. I analyzed our existing designs - this included conducting user research, analyzing sales trends, and deconstructing our existing garments.

  2. Created reports and user flow charts to analyze what was selling best and why.

  3. Sketched and prototyped models of new mechanisms/garments.

  4. Reconstructed our breastfeeding mechanism - it became more discreet and easier to use than earlier designs and used 25% less fabric, which resulted in a better product, cost reduction and better customer experience.
