AWARDS

I reached out to executives at Crayola when developing my thesis (since I was using crayons as my primary material) and was invited to the headquarters and factory in Easton, PA. There, I met with CEO Smith Holland and showed him and other executives my designs and developments, was given a tour of the facilities, and received funding for my thesis of over 3,000 crayons!

I was nominated by the Dean of Parsons and selected as one of 4 students into the Young Entrepreneurs Program during the Summer 2018 session of XRC Labs - where I received mentorship and took expansive business classes.

I was awarded $5,000 from AARP for an outstanding thesis that demonstrated and discussed the intersection of fashion and the aging community, and that was inclusive for all ages - specifically to the growing senior population.

I was one of 10 students selected to exhibit my thesis collection at the 70th Annual Parsons Benefit Gala. A section of the space was covered in white paper, where a live model performed and engaged with crayon-fashion, space, and the audience.

I was one of 10 finalists from the class of 2018 for the Parsons Social Innovation Award - which is awarded for work that has addressed issues within society and/or the fashion industry and who are proposing solutions in the form of new sustainable models or responsible practices that embrace site-specific and human-centered approaches to design while considering social, cultural and political imperatives.

CFDA Fashion Future Graduate Showcase 2018 was a hybrid physical and digital showcase spotlighting the top emerging design talent to the industry. I was one of 50 Graduates selected from 8 top design schools to participate in a two-day showcase on July 9 and 10, where I was given the opportunity to present my thesis collection and portfolio to the industry, editors, and influencers.

I was one of 10 finalists for the Eyes on Talent x Parsons Innovation award. This included being featured and given a profile on the Eyes on Talent digital platform, which is an invite only platform where industry members and leaders can connect with emerging talent.

CFDA+ is a curated platform spotlighting exemplary global new talent. I was one of 60 selected talents that were spotlighted and introduced to CFDA members and the fashion industry. I received a one-year showcase on CFDA.com and inclusion into a CFDA+ digital talent book that is distributed to the CDA Membership community of 500+ leading American Designers.
